Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was addressing a public meeting in London and Pattie Boyd, who was already a member of the Spiritual Regeneration Movement, persuaded George and the other Beatles to attend the Meeting. There, the Maharishi invited them to join him in Bangor.
The weekend which did not start well when Cynthia Lennon was mistaken for a fan by a policeman and could not get on the train, ended in tragedy with the announcement of Brian Epstein's untimely passing.
With their usual good taste and sensitivity, the Press insisted on firing questions at John, George, and Ringo...Paul had already returned to London.
Perhaps only one reporter showed any sensitivity when he asked...
"Have you a tribute that you would like to pay to Mr. Epstein?"
...and to which John replied,
"Well you know...We don't know what to say. We loved him and he was one of us."
This is the story of that weekend as broadcast by BBC Radio Wales, it includes interviews with some of those who were there that weekend, and some who were not...but, after all, this is The Beatles.
